The Power of a Smile

Grottoes International Humanitarian Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that brings “Special Smiles” to children with special needs by providing them much-needed dental care.

The program helps cover the cost of dental treatment and anesthesia costs*, whether done in a hospital setting or dental office.

*We do not cover the hospital costs.

ABACA Grotto financially supports both the Grottoes International Humanitarian Foundation and the Drs. of Smiles project.

ABACA Grotto, Featured in 09/2023 'Around The Realm'

Abaca Grotto of Fredericksburg, Virginia participated in the annual Waterfest event held in Colonial Beach, Virginia.

This event was founded by Past Monarch Ken Crampton, in partnership with the local chamber of commerce as a free, family-friendly event complete with drum circles, pirates, mermaids, flow jams, dancing, a boardwalk parade, storytelling, vendor booths, food, and pirate games.

Abaca Grotto participated with a Humanitarian Foundation-themed booth on the beach which distributed can koosies with literature and gave out more than 100 toothbrushes to children as they spoke with parents about the charitable mission of Grottoes International, masonry, fellowship, and of course proper dental care! Then it was back to sugar-topped funnel cakes and cotton candy for the kids as they enjoyed the rest of the event's bounties.
